A few years ago, I created a YouTube creative writing channel for kids, This Writer’s Life. It was a total joy!
Designed for 8-12-year-olds to see themselves as writers and own their unique creative identities, each episode covered a topic, tool, activity, or piece of encouragement—some exploration to get ideas flowing (and an accompanying printable PDF to use).
Why? Because it’s a fun quiz that reminds me of teen magazines growing up, but also may contain insight for writers of any age, at any stage.
Here’s the simple quiz for you to take and answer: What’s your writing personality? And remember, it’s here not to take too seriously. After all, I made it up!

Me? I’m a Dreamer. I used to have doubter answers (and definitely still struggle with that!), but it’s nice to see how dreaming has taken the lead over doubting in the last couple of years.

At first, I realized I'm all over the place here. Different answers to each question and relating to several answers to the same question. I took a minute to narrow it down and found that I'm 50% Dreamer and the rest Drifter/Doubter. I like how you provide strategies for each type to get over themselves.
I think I learned that I need to make an effort to help myself instead of letting life take over :)
Ooo, I love that you did this! Dreamer is great = ideas. Drifter, doubter, yeah, we gotta get you believing and keeping on with each one. But I think you're already succeeding given your output! I feel you on life taking over on the daily. My problem is too many ideas and things going on, which leads to a kind of overstimulation and/or burnout.
I had a different type for every answer! The only one I didn’t get was Racer! Must be an Ambiscriptor!
