What I love about this approach is that it focuses on the process as well as the product. We're often so focused on the final product, in any endeavor, that we forget the joys inherent in the baby steps. You've inspired me to start a list of smaller milestones.

Pre kids, I would have taken a day off and gone somewhere to explore, visited a museum, browsed in a new bookstore, something like that. Now I'm more likely to buy something sparkly like a crystal or a piece of jewelry. Something that makes me smile and feels like a tangible reminder!
